Here is a fun Pop-Up Quiz on the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights!
This project required us to use HTML and Javascript to create a pop-up quiz that is accessible online. First, we accessed a web-hosting and domain service to create the website used for our e-portfolio. Next, I modified the template code to personalize the pop-up quiz. After modifying the HTML and Javascript coding, this project was uploaded and linked to our domain. I was inspired to create a pop-up quiz regarding the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, given my previous Social Studies teaching experience and my current profession in the U.S. Air Force. I rationalized this quiz as one of our duties as citizens of the U.S., which is to have a fundamental understanding of our founding documents and rights as individuals. The fundamental nature of this assessment, plus the links to the National Archives, would encourage students to learn more.
In reflection, I see the value in creating these web-based quizzes or studying technological tools. If modified appropriately, this medium is ideal as an actual educational assessment. Additionally, if modified to allow multiple attempts and resetting, this medium is ideal as a study guide for students to review for a more extensive assessment. Using educational technology in this way allows students to learn in fun, interactive, and trial-and-error methods. Repetition will help students seal in knowledge-level facts or concepts, which can be built upon later in further analysis. A medium such as this allows for this repetition to be effective.
